Encounter specialist Daya Nayak has been reinstated on duty after his suspension was revoked by Mumbai Police Commissioner Arup Patnaik on Saturday. Daya Nayak was suspended since 2006 for owning assets disproportionate to his known sources of income, the allegation was made by by former journalist Ketan Tirodkar.
However Dya Nayak claimed that the money and property he possess was received as charity and gift by him. He came under scrutiny of Anti Corruption Bureau after he open school which was inaugurated by the hand of Bollywood actor Amitabh Bachchan.
No substantial evidence was found against the policeman during the investigation, thus his suspension order is revoked. He is known to have killed more than 80 gangsters in encounters.
