P.A Sangma former speaker of Lok Sabha has resigned from National Congress Party, and will contest for the Presidential Election. NCP is supporting candidate of UPA for presidential poll, thus Sangma resigned from the party. The NCP had earlier warned Sangma that he could face strict action for his insistence on contesting the Presidential election.
Sangma said that he is not contesting for the poll as candidate of any party but representative of tribal. Naveen Patnaik and Tamil Nadu CM J Jayalalithaa have backed Sangma as Candidate of presidential election.
