Police arrested a 27-year-old man from Madhubhani in Bihar on Wednesday for the kidnapping, rape and the murder of a minor girl in Makarpura area in the city. The accused was brought back by the police to Vadodara on Friday.
Afreen Pathan (7) was allegedly kidnapped from her house at Indiranagar society in Makarpura on the evening of June 2 and raped and murdered on the same day near Vadsar village in the city’s outskirts. The accused, Kapil Mandal, confessed to killing the girl. Her remains were recovered from an isolated area behind the ABB factory where he committed the crime said the police.
The accused Kapil Mandal was in love with elder sister of Rubina, Afreen. But Rubben refused his advances thus to avenge his insult he kidnapped innocent 7 year old Afreen.
