In order to spread awareness of the eco-friendly Ganesh, the residents of Surat city made a Ganesh idol out of his favourite durva grass. This unique green Ganesh was made by the residents in six months. For the the residents specially grew grass and made the idol. This makes the this Ganpati Bappa different from other idols. People in large number come to worship this idol and also learn the importance of saving trees and decrease pollution.
The unique thing about this green Ganesh is that the visarjan will be done in the mandal only with the water of river Tapi.
