On Sunday morning an assistant sub-inspector, hung himself inside the Bapunagar police station. The deceased has been identified as Faridkhan Pathan. According to police officials the cop was depressed after death of his sister, which might led him to committing suicide. However family members are alleging his colleagues at station, suspecting he was harassed.

On Thursday a youth attempted suicide by consuming poison in Metropolitan court before judge. Immediately he was taken to civil hospital. The youth is identified as Maqsood. Talking to media personnel he said that he has been constantly tortured by police officers. Whereas it is suspected that it could be stunt as the youth has criminal record and has went to jail several times.
This is second such incident, few days ago a rape victim tried to kill herself by consumig poison in the Metropolitan court.

Cueist Rupesh Shah wins second World Billiards title. Rupesh Shah, the 39-year old from Ahmedabad, became the fifth Indian to lift world billiards title twice as he defeated Australian Matthew Bolton 6-2 in the final (point frame), on Saturday.
Shah had a tough time against Bolton, a ten-time Australian champion, in a contest of fluctuating fortunes.
Shah had defeated big guns Mike Russell (in quarterfinals), Peter Gilchrist (in semifinals).
Family members of Rupesh Shah are also very happy with his achievements. Shah looks forward to win many more titles in billiards.

On Sunday a four month old baby girl was found abandoned at Railway yard in Puri express train. After two day a couple who hail from chhatisgarh and work as labour has claimed that she is their daughter.
The girl was kept in Mahipat ashram after she was handled to Railway police by onlookers. According to mother she did not left her but when she stepped down from the train to fetch water keeping baby inside, by the time she returned train left the station. Father was taking ticket at that time. However girl will be handled to them after DNA test.

On Friday Ahmedabad Crime Branch arrested a zonal committee commander of Naxal outfit near Gita Mandir. The naxalite named Suhag Paswan belongs to Muzzafarpur in Bihar. He has20 cases of serious offences such as dacoity, murders, extortion, landmine blasts, etc. According to sources he was in state for four months and wanted to set-up his outfit base in Gujarat. He was wanted for over one year. He is also accused of blowing up police vehicle in which a sub-inspector and two constables were killed in Bihar. Cops of Special Task Force of Bihar were in Gujarat to nab the naxalite ever since his location was traced to Vadodara.
Crime Branch Assistant Commissioner of Police Nirlipt Rai said Paswan had travelled extensively through Patan, Kutch, Vadodara and Ahmedabad, to set up operations in the state. He was working as a labour contractor at Radhanpur in Patan district, and had been in Gujarat for the last four months.
