Naxalite leader from Bihar arrested, Ahmedabad

On Friday Ahmedabad Crime Branch arrested a zonal committee commander of Naxal outfit near Gita Mandir. The naxalite named Suhag Paswan belongs to Muzzafarpur in Bihar. He has20 cases of serious offences such as dacoity, murders, extortion, landmine blasts, etc. According to sources he was in state for four months and wanted to set-up his outfit base in Gujarat. He was wanted for over one year. He is also accused of blowing up police vehicle in which a sub-inspector and two constables were killed in Bihar. Cops of Special Task Force of Bihar were in Gujarat to nab the naxalite ever since his location was traced to Vadodara.
Crime Branch Assistant Commissioner of Police Nirlipt Rai said Paswan had travelled extensively through Patan, Kutch, Vadodara and Ahmedabad, to set up operations in the state. He was working as a labour contractor at Radhanpur in Patan district, and had been in Gujarat for the last four months.

Fake Currency Scam busted, 14 accused arrested, Gandhinagar

The Gujarat police seized Rs 26.18 lakh fake currency notes on Wednesday. Local Crime Branch in Jamnagar got a tip-off that an autorickshaw driver Altaf Pinjara who frequently made purchases revealed that he had started paying for even small purchases with Rs 500 notes. Police then arrested Altaf. At the time of his arrest the police also seized Rs 62,500 worth of fake notes. Based on this evidence, Jamnagar LCB inspector G A Sarvaiya registered a complaint against Altaf and raided his home. The cops found four persons there – Rahim Pinjara, Shoeb Balim, Salim Subhaniya and Asif Makrani. Similar another consignment of fake notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1,000 denominations were seized from Altaf’s four friends.
While interrogating the five accused realised that Shoeb was key person in the fake note racket. Shoeb told police that he used to collect fake notes from Salma Sindhi, who now stays in Wankaner. Salma, according to the police, is a native of West Bengal and pays frequent trips to the eastern state.
While investigating the entire racket the Pakistan and Bangladesh connection came out in the light.

Mumbai Crime Branch arrest 16 chain snatchers

Thane police has nabbed down 16 chain snatchers and seized jewellery worth 1.5 crore rupees. They also seized 25 bikes from these thieves and in this big achievement the main mastermind behind all these theft is also under police arrest.

These cunning thieves used to target females and old people. It was also a challenging task to the police to trace these chain snatchers. At last Crime Branch succeeded in nabbing them from Ambiwali area of Kalyan.
The gang had a unique technique, instead of selling the stolen jewellery they used to mortgage them.

Sudama Resort raid : DD and Cheque used for gambling, Ahmedabad

In Ellisbridge late on Friday DCP force raided Sudama resort and arrested 144 gamblers. Rs 17.17 lakh in cash and demand drafts and cheques worth Rs 36.75 lakh was recovered from the resort. Along with 144 gamblers a police constable of Dhodka has been suspended. Surprisingly machine used for counting cash in bank was recovered from the resort. It is learned that Gamblers from across the state used to come for gambling in Sudama Resort.

According to cops the den is run by gambling kingpin Dinesh Thakkar alias Kalgi. Earlier also he was arrested in 2010

Delhi Police arrests terrorist Abu Hamza from IGI Airport

Accused of Mumbai 26/11 terrorist attack, Pune German Bakery blast, Delhi Jama Masjid blast, and Gujarat Kalupur Railway Station blast, Abu Hamza alias Zabiuddin Ansari is nabbed by Delhi Police. He has accepted that he was involved in the 26/11 terrorist attack and since last three years he was living in Saudi Arabia.
This terrorist has 26 different names to hide his identity and is in direct contact of Indian Mujahiddin and Lashker-e-Taiba. Mumbai Crime Branch has appealed in the court to get custody of Abu Hamza. He is basically from Beed of Maharashtra. Since 2005 he was on the wanted list of Indian agencies. He studied in ITI of Beed District.

During interrogation, Zabiuddin gave a deep insight into the situation at ‘Karachi control room’ monitoring the Mumbai attack. His presence was also stated by Ajmal Kasab, the lone terrorist arrested during the Mumbai attack, in his deposition before a special court in Mumbai. He told the court that one person by the name of Abu Jundal had tutored 10 terrorists on how to speak Hindi.

Beheaded head of Mainakshi Thapa not found yet, Mumbai

Minaxi Thapa was killed in April for extortion of Rs 15 lakh from her family. Both the accused Amit Jaiswal and Prity Surin are nabbed by the police. However, her brother who is in Indian Army says that after two months of Minakshi’s death her decapitated head is not found yet and because of this her body cannot be cremated. He also appeals that this case should be sent in fast track court. The case is now with Crime Branch.

4 teams of Crime Branch to probe in the Mantralaya fire, Mumbai

Till now 5 people has lost their lives in the massive fire of Maharashtra Mantralaya among which bodies of two have been identified. Now Crime Branch is probing in the entire case. Crime Branch has made four different teams in which there are total 30 members.
Crime Branch has taken 70 CCTV camera footage. They have got total 4 hard disks among which one hard disk is of 2 thousand GB. Crime Branch has received the CCTV footage from ground floor to 4th floor but the footage of 5th and 6th have been burnt in the fire.
Cabinet meeting was also held following this incident in which opposition got an opportunity to attack government. Shiv Sena considered this incident as the most shameful in last 50 years.

Highway Robbers nabbed by police, Mumbai

Local Crime Branch of Mumbai has nabbed robbers from Bhopal. These robbers especially used to loot people at Mumba-Ahmedabad and Mumbai-Bhopal Highway. They at first offered lift to the people and then used to steal their cash and ornaments. This gang had revolver and knife as well. After robbing they ran back to Bhopal.
Crime Branch seized revolver, knife, various mobile phones and jewellery worth 3 lac rupees from them.

He was absconding since a long time and is also a companion of Don, Abdul Wahab.
