7 including 2 girls held for blackmailing girl, Surat

Surat police have arrested seven youths in Amroli on Saturday night for allegedly blackmailing a girl. Among them are two girls who are arrested.
They are college friends and had come to meet Maitry Kosambiya whom they began to threaten after a while. Maitry’s uncle then called police. She had come to her uncle’s house on Saturday at Rajput Faliya to seek his help as her friends were blackmailing her since long, sources informed. Police recovered suspected drugs from one of the cars of the accused youths.
The victim was avoiding them as they started blackmailing her. However, the accused were able to trace her and reached the house of Hitendra Bakrola (where the girl has come to seek help of her uncle) in Mercedes and Skoda Fabia cars.
Seeing the situation going out of hand, the victim’s uncle informed police, who detained the youths. Their vehicles were searched and police found a suspected drug in Skoda Fabia car. It has been sent for examination to a forensic laboratory. Preliminary examination has revealed that the youths were carrying charas, sources claimed.
Primary investigation has revealed that one of the accused girl is the daughter of a Mumbai-based businessman and she had brought the drugs from there. Whereas another girl stays in Pune and she was abandoned by her family for her allegedly bad habits.
Police investigation revealed that the youths were drug addicts and did the blackmailing for drugs only. Police also claims that these youths are not the mastermind and that there is someone else behind them. Investigation is still going on in this case.
Two held with 18kg Marijuana, Surat

Varachha police nabbed two who were smuggling marijuana in Surat. There main work was to supply marijuana coming from Orissa to the dealer in Surat. Both the accused were nabbed from railway station with 18 kg and 250gm marijuana.
However, these two are just the mediators the main mastermind behind these increasing cases of drugs smuggling is still out of the reach of police.
This is not the first case where marijuana was nabbed, there has been an entire racket that is running freely in Surat.
Drug reports of 44 held in Juhu Rave Party tests positive, Mumbai

A rave party was busted on 20th May from Oakwood Premier Hotel where police raided for getting information that apart from alcohol drugs were also consumed by the people. Following this police detained 96 people and took medical reports of 46 people among them reports of 44 have come positive. Police has nabbed all 44 people whose reports were positive. Among these 44 people 27 consumed cannabis (charas), 1 consumed MDMA i.e, sizzler drug, and 16 were such who took both charas and sizzler drug.
Police also took alcohol test of those who were nabbed in whch 29 were positive and 17 were negative. However, the reports of IPL player Rahul Sharma are yet to come.

In order to consume drugs and gamble these people risks their lives as they climb down from old Ellis Bridge to the new bridge as there is a gap between the two bridges. They themselves, when asked, accepted that it is their habit of gambling that brings them to this place every now and then. It has been a while that these people are coming regularly to this place.
When contacted the security officials they said that they are aware of this illegal activity at this place, but they are not able to take any action as they do not have the authority to stop them. LCB seizure 2500 kg Haul of Marijuana from Nadiad

Nadiad LCB confiscated 2500 kg of Marijuana from a Godown of Nadia at National Highway No 8. LCB reached the Godown after receiving tip off of illicit liquor but there they found 2500 kg Marijuana Haul.
According to police a large network of Marijuana smuggling is operating in Nadiad. ” The seizure is worth 4 lac rupees” says Brahmbhatt PSI, LCB.

Gandhinagar Narcotics cell seizure 1 kg Marijuana from a Paan shop. The owner of Paan shop is arrested by police. In the camouflage of Paan center marijuana was sold by the shop owner at the rate of Rs 50/gram. He was doing this business from last four years.
Interestingly the Pan Shop is only at 50 feet distance from Nadiad Police station, thus it has raised eyebrows on them that how come they did not know about this.
