Terror of leopard in interiors of Mumbai


People living in Filter Pada area claim to have spotted leopards frequently in their area. Residents are under threat because of the frequent visit of leopards in the area as several times the leopards have also entered houses in the area.
Similar is the situation in other areas as well.
Residents accuse that dispute of various complaints none of the official of forest department has cared to visit the places.

Ban on visit to Sasan Gir for four months


As four months of monsoon is the mating period between animals, a ban has imposed for these four months on the visit of Sasan Gir. This ban is imposed so that the animal are not troubled by people.
However, records say that this year there was a good number of people who visited lions in the Sasan Gir. More than 4.50 lac tourist visited this year.
Forest Department has also benefited itself with this tourism. Records shows that the tourism has increased in Gujarat.

Two Sandalwood trees stolen from Circuit House, Junagadh


2 sandalwood trees were stolen from the compound of Circuit House. One tree was worth 50 thousand rupees. The security guard was on duty when the theft took place. Four thieves took away two trees. According to Forest Department it is illegal to steal sandalwood trees. Questions has arose on the security of Forest Department towards these costly trees.

Rising sea level is a threat to people’s life, Bharuch


During the tides it is likely that the nearby villages may swept away because the sea level has increased because of global warming.
Similar is the situation of Mota Faliya where 15-20 families resides. Their lives are at stake and they have applied government to help them.
However, forest department says that because of the rain water in rivers have resulted in this. They have also prepared a project to build a high trees in 12 villages that will help save the people during such times.

Forest Department alongwith villagers thrashed Bear till death, Madhya Pradesh


A bear was beaten up brutally by villagers who entered the village. They battered the innocent animal with sticks and even set the forest afire to kill the animal. The bear’s mistake was that it entered a house in this village during the night and injured 4 people including one forest official. This agitated the people who left no stone unturned to kill the bear.
What more disturbing is that when forest officials arrived at the spot, instead of saving the animal and giving him a first aid they dragged the bear tying with their car. This later killed the animal.

Following the threat of leopards every now and then, Forest Department has started operations to catch these leopards. They has imposed cages at several places and are using goats as prey to lure the leopards. Also the officials are taking help of such device that make exact sound of a goat.

No Space in Leopard Jail, Junagadh


So many man-eater leopards are found with every passing day that now there is no room for more leopards in their jail . As a result the forest department has to build more cages in Sakkarbaug Zoo and Sasan Animal Center.
Forest Department arranges special cages to catch the man-eater leopards and also organizes trackers with which it is able to differentiate man-eater leopards from the other. And the officials tries to keep these leopards permanently in the zoo itself. Hence process of making new cages have been started.

Crocodile found from farm, Madiya Hatiya


A crocodile arrived in a farm at Nani Dhanij village of Madiya Hatiya. News of crocodile went viral and people in large number arrived to get a glimpse of the crocodile. They informed the forest department who came and caught the crocodile with great pain. However, villagers were a bit angry on the officials as they claims that the officials arrived quite late and the villagers feared that crocodile may harm nearby school children.

Man Eater Panther caught, Veraval


People of Kanja village in Sutrapda Taluka were under the terror of a man eater female panther that hunted two kids in one month. The panther is finally nabbed.
People were not able to come out of their homes out of fear and also they are agitated at the forest officials.
However, Forest department nab these animals and take them to Sasan Animal Care Center where after check up they are released in the forest. But these animals come back to their original places.
