A gang of four is nabbed who are responsible for 39 house break-ins in different parts of the city. They have stolen valuables, clothes and cables worth 1 crore rupees. They used to steal these valuables during the midnight and has also hired a tempo to carry the stolen goods. The main accused has accepted 39 thefts during interrogation and investigation of other members is going on.
Houses collapsed, many goes missing and rivers are overflowing with water because of the cloudburst in Uttarkashi. This has claimed life of more than 30 people. A building collapsed in Uttarkashi district of India’s northern Uttarakhand state on Sunday after a cloudburst hit the area.
At least 2,000 people were adversely affected by flash floods triggered by a rainstorm two days earlier as the overflowing Bhagirathi River swept away bridges and houses.
Rescue operation is going on but the heavy rainfall is creating a hindrance in it as well. The pilgrims are also affected to a large extent due to this cloudburst.

Four blasts of low intensity took place in quick succession within a radius of 500 metres of Jangali Maharaj Road.The explosions occurred at spots near Balgandharva Theatre, Dena Bank branch, a McDonald food outlet and Garware bridge. The first explosion went off at Balgandharva Theatre where the suspected bomber was injured. The explosion outside McDonald went off in a dustbin while the blasts near Garware bridge and Dena bank were reported from a cycle which had a bucket with explosives strapped on.
two detonators, ammonium nitrate, batteries, wires, circuits, pencil cell and other explosive ingredients were found from the site.
One detonator went off in the explosion while the second was defused by a bomb disposal squad team.

Governor Dr Kamla nodded for the prosecution of minister of state for fisheries Parshottam Solanki in connection with an alleged Rs 400 crore fisheries contract scam. This has also increased problems of senior minister Dilip Sanghani for approving the contracts. He signed the files approving of contracts without tenders.
Looking at the entire case, in 2009 fishing contracts of various reservoirs were given. But a scam of 400 crore came out in this contract. A PIL was filed and high court ordered to dismiss all the contracts. The high court ordered to take legal action against Solanki, however, Deputy Secretary of government said that no criminal action can be taken of Solanki for which action was not taken against him.
At first the State Government did not approved to take action following which the High Court left decision on the Governor. After this, state government handed over all the necessary documents to the governor. Hence now the governor has decided to take legal action against Solanki.
Illegal mining was going on since many days in the middle of the Mumbai’s Pawai mountain. It was only when deputy mayor, Mohan Mitbavkar, noticed the illegal mining. He visited the place and checked all necessary documents. He said that even collector cannot give the permission for this as the matter falls under the workability of BMC environment department and forest department.
A tunnel is made in this mountain for a builder and residents blames that top officials and even the collector is involved in this.
There are around 1 lakh huts residing on the mountain whose lives are at stake with this illegal mining.
As of now a stopper notice is given to hold the work.
