Congress leader, Badruddin Shaikh, attacked in Juhapura after parking row


Badruddin Shaikh, leader of opposition in the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation was assaulted in Juhapura on Sunday night. He had gone there to attend wedding functions. Shaikh was later admitted to the VS Hospital with injuries in head and chest.
Shaikh went to Kadri party plot to attend a wedding where he had a fight with the driver of another car. According to Shaikh, the other car’s owner and his companions beat him up and attacked him with a sword.

Four-month-old baby girl found from railway yard, Ahmedabad


Months after an infant, Pari, was found from the railway yard of Ahmedad railway station, another girl who is around four months of age has been found from the railway yard.
According to the railway sources, the Ahmedbad-Puri train reached Kalupur station in the morning. Thereafter, it was sent to the Kankaria yard where railway police was on a regular checking spree. During this time police constable Ramesh found the baby in S9 coach where it was wrapped in a blanket on seat number 30.
An RPF took the charge of the girl. The Government Railway Police is trying to trace the parents of the girl.
Meanwhile the baby is sent to Civil Hospital for a medical check-up.

India Against Corruption cartoonist Aseem Trivedi arrested on sedition charges


On Monday police arrested Aseem Trivedi, a freelance artist, political cartoonist and activist of India Against Corruption on the charges of sedition over a series of cartoons which highlighted government’s corruption such as caricaturing parliament, and depicting the national emblem with wolves dripping blood from their mouths.
He was charged with sedition under Section 124 A of the Indian Penal Code, which is a non-bailable offence.

He was also charged under the IT Act and the 1971 National Emblem Act.

New rules for CA entrance brings good news for students, Ahmedabad


Good news for students who aspires to take admission to Intermediate Course. They no longer need to appear for the Common Proficiency Test. Commerce graduates or post-graduates who have secured an aggregate minimum of 55% of the total marks or 60% in other streams will not have to take the entrance test. 25000 Rotis Rolled in 10 minutes, Rajkot


A school of Rajkot called, Kadvibai Virani Kanya Vidhyalay held a unique activity in which the students made 25,000 rotis in 8 minutes. All 1200 girl students are from 5 to 10 standard. They were given a target of making 25,000 rotis in 10 minutes but they were practicing since last 15 days that helped them achieve their target in merely 8 minutes. In a total there were more than 35,000 rotis made in the activity.

Two Local trains collided at Andheri


Two trains collided with each other by coming on the same track mistakenly at Andheri Station. Many people of both these trains were injured in the accident. However, railway authorities continue to claim that nobody is injured.
Many among these did not even get treatment on time. Two who were severely injured are admitted in ICU at BMC Kupar Hospital. In the midnight Mayor, Sunil Prabhu, visited Brahmakumari Hospital.

Man returns plastic bag full of cash to Police, Mumbai


Where anyone may give a second thought by finding lots of cash suddenly but Arif Mohammad, a driver, returns bag that contained lacs of rupees to Andheri police. He set an example of loyalty by returning the bag.

On Tuesday Arif was traveling from Andheri to Church gate in local where he found a plastic bag. On opening the bag he found lots of money and cheques in the bag. At first he tried to search the owner of the bag but when he failed in that he reached Andheri Police Station and handed over the bag to police.

After sometimes the owner of the bag was traced. Amit Shah in a hurry to board train forgot his bag in local.

Police has decided to give reward to the loyal driver. Prior to this as well Arif received a bag containing 65 lac cash in Nagpur.
