Kapoor Jewelers’ owner accused of domestic violence and dowry, Ahmedabad


Delhi based Pankaj Kapoor, the owner of Kapoor Jewelers and his son Suchit Kapoor are accused of demanding dowry and torturing from Ahmedabad based girl who was married to Suchit Kapoor in 2008.

Lawyer of the complainant says that her in-laws started tortured her physically and mentally and demanded numerous things from her and at last sent her back home.

However, Pankaj Kapoor says that all the allegations are baseless and he has a letter written by the mother of his daughter-in-law in which she clearly stated that no dowry will be exchanged in this marriage. He further says that this is a conspiracy to take money from them.

Police has nabbed her husband in 4 day remand and is investigating further in the case.

Jewelers fearing loot demand police security, Mumbai


After increased in number of loot, the jewelers of Mumbai city are living in fear. After the loot of 60 Lac in a jewelers shop of Ghatkopar once again the security of the jewelers is at stake. Jewelers are agitated with this as no one knows when robbers will attack them and their shops with weapons. They are also angry at the slow work of police as in the murder case of jewelers that occurred in Malad police has not done anything except publishing the sketches of the accused. The police has not arrested any accused in this case as well, says the family members of the victims. The jewelers are living in fear and has demanded security from the police. They have also threatened that if the police will not tighten the security of the jewelers than they will protest on roads.

Jewelers protest on road with dead bodies of the victims, Mumbai


After the murder of two jewelers in Mumbai, the jewelers of Mumbai protested out of anger and also brought the dead bodies of the duo on roads demanding justice. The jewelers gave an ultimatum of 10 days to the police to nab both the accused who looted and murdered the jeweler and his manager. They also threatened that if the police will not nab the accused as soon as possible, then they can do extreme protest as well. Looking at the severity of the protest, Mumbai Police Commissioner and higher officers reached the spot and consoled the jewelers stating that the case will be handed over to the Crime Branch for investigating the entire case.

The Jeweler’s Association has extended their strike for two more days and this time more than 50,000 Bengali workers has also joined with them. The jewelers have also said that if their demand will not be met than they will approach to Delhi. They have also decided to sent telegram and post cards from entire state to Finance Minister and Prime Minister.
