In Boisar region a man killed his wife as she refused to cook food. The accused Saiyappa was working as labour for an under construction building. On Friday he asked his wife Saiyappa to cook food. When she refused, miffed Saiyappa attacked her. People gathered as they heard scream of his wife. She died by the time she was taken to hospital.

On Tuesday a 27 year old woman committed suicide in the hostel room of an MLA in Mumbai.The woman is identified as Rupali Andhare, who was living with his brother in the hostel. The hostel is of Nationalist Congress Party MLA from Madha Dilip Dhaigunde is the uncle of deceased lady.
According to police sources, Ms Andhare was unemployed and was suffering from depression. This could be reason behind her suicide.

On Monday police arrested Aseem Trivedi, a freelance artist, political cartoonist and activist of India Against Corruption on the charges of sedition over a series of cartoons which highlighted government’s corruption such as caricaturing parliament, and depicting the national emblem with wolves dripping blood from their mouths.
He was charged with sedition under Section 124 A of the Indian Penal Code, which is a non-bailable offence.
He was also charged under the IT Act and the 1971 National Emblem Act.

The Maharashtra Navnirman Sena has threatened to disrupt Sur-Kshetra, a music show in which eight vocalists from Pakistan and an equal number of Indian singers are scheduled to participate.
Chief of the Chitrapat Karmachari Sena, Ameya Khopkar said “Pakistan has been inflicting injuries on India by plotting terrorist attacks. There is no need to undertake such a show on TV. If the show goes on air, we will deal with the situation in a manner befitting the MNS”.
Filmmaker Boney Kapoor, a board director of channel which is producing the show, said: “That is not for me to decide. I will have a meeting with the board members and then we will take a stand on it.”
