In order to consume drugs and gamble these people risks their lives as they climb down from old Ellis Bridge to the new bridge as there is a gap between the two bridges. They themselves, when asked, accepted that it is their habit of gambling that brings them to this place every now and then. It has been a while that these people are coming regularly to this place.
When contacted the security officials they said that they are aware of this illegal activity at this place, but they are not able to take any action as they do not have the authority to stop them. When contacted the additional city engineer of AMC, he consoled that action will be taken against this.
