Youth saved after getting hit by 11 KV line, Porbandar


On 23rd June an employee of power company died as he climbed the 11 KV line to see the fault in the power line. But unfortunately he died of electrocution. After this incident a bike rider was also hit by this live wire and the youth was thrown far away. But fortunately the youth was saved miraculously and sustained minor injuries. But this incident once again highlight irresponsibility of PGVCL.

Land Record office working without officers, Porbandar


Land Record office of Porbandar is working without officers since a long time. Whenever the applicants used to come they only get one answer that the officer comes only once in a week and they have to repeatedly visit the office several times. When contacted the present employee in the office he said that there is no officer since a long time and after the former officer was retired a Junagadh officer was given the charge and he come only once in a week.
Higher officials know that there is a lack of officers in this office and ensures that within short time the posts will be filled soon.

72 fishermen returned home from Pakistan, Porbandar


On Sunday April 29, 72 Indian fishermen were released from Pakistan Maritime Security Agency. They were held from Arabian Sea off Jakhau coast on Friday April 27.
The PMSA personnel had seized 14 Indian fishing boats off Jakhau coast, with 85 fishermen on board, on April 27, and detained them mid-sea.

13 fishermen and 13 boats are still to be freed.

Okha Coast Guard nabbed 2 Pakistani Boats with 14 fishermen, Porbandar


Once again Pakistani boats are nabbed from Arabian Sea. Mirabehn ship of Okha Coast Guard has nabbed two Pakistani boats with 14 people during patrolling. Later they handed them to Okha Marine Police.

The Mirabehan Ship nabbed two suspicious boats from 30-35 Nautical Miles away from Jakhav of Arabian Sea on Sunday. When Mirabehan saw the suspicious boats they tried to stop them but the boats tried to run away following which cost guard nabbed them both. There names are Al-Usama and Al-Razak and both had 7-7 people in them. They are brought to Okha Port of Jamnagar. Security agencies will start joint interrogation.

18 of Salaya Village and 4 of Porbandar missing in SHIVAM Ship, Jamnagar


The SHIVAM Ship is missing since last 11 days. No news have arrived yet about the ship and those who were in the ship. There were 18 people of 15 families of Salaya village and 4 people of Porbandar. The ship started from Mumbai on 14th March to reach Oman and is missing since 20th March.
Shipping Association said that the Coast Guard was informed about the missing of the ship but yet not clue is found about the missing of the ship.
The ship went missing following the information of bad weather.

Man on world tour since 11 years reaches Gandhiji’s birth place, Porbandar


Brain Taylor, a Canadian, is on world tour since 2001. He is traveling the world on a boat and has visited many sea coast countries.. He has reached India and is on a visit at the birth place of Mahatma Gandhi. He is retire and is traveling since 11 years. After India he will go to Sri Lanka, Japan and other countries. He has all the required facilities in his boat alongwith a solar system for electricity. He will travel for four more days before going home.

Man attacks Wife, Son and Daughter, Set self on fire, Porbandar


A man, Balu Chauhan, in Porbandar attacked his wife, son and daughter following personal dispute. He attacked them with iron rod when they were asleep and later her set himself on fire by sprinkling kerosene. The man died whereas all the three injured were shifted in a hospital but later as their condition worsen they were shifted to the Civil Hospital of Rajkot. Family members says that Balu Chauhan was mentally stable and he did this after loosing his control. Police is investigation further in the case.

Dhuleti Played with Manure in Khristi Village, Porbandar


People of Khristri village plays dhuleti with manure. The game is known as Chana Pana by the villagers. In this game two groups throws manure at each other. At times people also gets minor injuries by the manure thrown on them. After this they celebrate festival with colors for two days
