7 child labours rescued from a factory, Ahmedabad

Police raided a zari factory at Amrapali area of Ahmedabad. During the raid police discovered 9 labours among which 7 were child labours and 2 aged above 18. On interrogating the 2 labors it was found out hat most of the child labours hailed from Bihar. There families sent them here to earn money. These kids get food, clothes here and are sen there out of poverty. The families of such kids get Rs. 1500 – 2000 per month.
Sudam Resort Raid Kalgi surrenders gets bail, Ahmedabad

Accused of running a gambling den at Sudama Resort, Dinesh Kalgi, surrendered before Navrangpura police on Sunday. When he entered the police station at 10:25am, the investigation officer was not present.
Kalgi’s lawyers made an application in the metro court alleging that the police intended to detain Kalgi illegally and asked for h is bail. So Navarangpura police was asked to present Kalgi in the court. Police interrogated Kalgi and after his statement his bail was granted.
However, court has asked to submit his passport.

Sudama Resort raid : DD and Cheque used for gambling, Ahmedabad

In Ellisbridge late on Friday DCP force raided Sudama resort and arrested 144 gamblers. Rs 17.17 lakh in cash and demand drafts and cheques worth Rs 36.75 lakh was recovered from the resort. Along with 144 gamblers a police constable of Dhodka has been suspended. Surprisingly machine used for counting cash in bank was recovered from the resort. It is learned that Gamblers from across the state used to come for gambling in Sudama Resort.
According to cops the den is run by gambling kingpin Dinesh Thakkar alias Kalgi. Earlier also he was arrested in 2010

After illegal mining scam busted in three villages, people are getting more and more aware about the theft of sand. Residents of Bakrol village in Daskroi Taluka informed Geological Department about the theft of sand in their area. Following their complaint the department took a checking drive and found out the 13,313.03 metric ton sand is been stolen. The department has seized a truck and two dumpers of Bharat Patel alongwith 70 lac rupees cash and has awarded him a penalty.

Sand mafias take license and lease for digging sand in a specific area but digs out more than need sand. Such scams are going on in many villages of Sanand.
Such scenes were seen in Kuwar and Zolapur village in which illegal mining scams were running. Residents blame that more than needed sand is been dig out from these areas.
Ahmedabad Mining Department raided these places and when measured found out the more amount of sand has been dig out from these areas. It is also said that these extra sand is been taken for some private company’s construction. Probing is going on further in the case.

Police raided a flat in Ahmedabad on Sunday and busted a booze party, detaining 41 people including 19 women. The party was happening at the flat of Harsh Shah, where the police raided and seized bottles of liquor from their possession.
