Power supply stolen for protest against corruption by MJP, Ahmedabad


A Dharna was organized by Maha Gujarat Janta Paksh in favor of Lokayukta against State Government. But in this protest we found out that the electric current supply was not taken legally. On the contrary is was stolen from a nearby electrical distribution board for the sound system of two hour program.
When asked Gordhan Jadafiya, president of MJP, he said that he is unaware about this connection and is ready to pay the penalty if needed. In the protest against corruption the implementation of Lokayukta is needed in the party as well.

Gujarat Govt. reduces impact fee to legalize illegal structures


State Government has made certain changes in the impact fee. This decision will relieve the people to a certain extent.

The state government has decided to charge a flat impact fee rather than calculating it as per jantri rates, which are official assessment of a real estate property.

The government has decided not to charge any impact fee for those who had altered a residential area of up to 150 sq metres into a commercial venture. No impact fee will be charged in case a new sanitary facility, particularly a toilet, is created for residential area changed into commercial use.

Announcing the changes, state’s Urban Development Minister Nitin Patel said the new decision was taken on the basis of feedback from local authorities across the state.

4 Gujaratis return from Angola


Trapped Gujaratis returns back to India from Angola. One such Gujarati was Vijay Valmik of Petlad, who returned home. He was welcomed by his family members and villagers and now he says that he will never return to that place ever in his life.
The youths who returned accuses that they did not received any help from the Central Government. Jitendra from Valsad was also among the 4 Gujaratis who returned alongwith the 45 Indians from Angola.
However, politics have brewed between State and Central Government regarding this issue.

Oil Mills facing diffeiculty following Stock Limit, Mehsana


As a result of the new stock limit imposed on groundnut oil to control the rates, the oil mills are facing a great loss. According to the stock limit the wholesale merchants of oil seed can keep 200 ton and retailers can keep 10 ton in gross. Whereas the mill owners can keep raw material till 2 months and ready oil for 1 month only.
State Government blames Central Government for this price hike in groundnut oil.

Bill to Protect Doctors on Duty, Gandhinagar


A bill was passed by the State Government in the Rajyasabha in order to protect doctors and medical staff on duty. The bill intends to protect on-duty doctors, para medical staff, nurses, ambulance van staff of all registered hospitals, dispensaries and medical institutions against attack and assault. Any assault or offending behavior will invite three-year jail and fine as high as Rs 50,000 as per the provision in the bill.
However, opposition party states that there are rules to protect doctors, but steps should also be taken against those who fails in their responsibility towards patients.

BJP’s ‘Kisan Chetna Yatra’ from 6th April to bring awareness, Gandhinagar


Gujarat BJP to organize Kisan Chetna Yatra from 6th of April which is the birthday of the party. BJP target central government by saying that that lift of cotton export is conditional.
The yatra will start from 6th April and will continue for the entire month. During this they will spread awareness among farmers regarding their rights.
On the other hand Congress party says that this is merely a political stunt of BJP party and will also organize similar program for the farmers.
