After Pune Serial Blast, Gujarat state has been put on high alert by Intelligence Bureau. IB wrote to Gujarat Police informing that terror attack may strike in the state on 15th August. IB also informed about tightening the security at religious and public places for the coming Janmashtami.
Police has started strict checking at Kalupur railway station and vehicles entering the cities.
The temperature in Gujarat State has crossed the limit of 40 degree Celsius. The hot sun-rays alongwith wind has increase the temperature. The weather department announced heat waves in Naliya and Kandla of Kutch. The officials says that this is because of Western Disturbance and the heat that comes from Rajasthan. On Tuesday the temperature was highest. The weather department has said that the temperature will still be high for some more days,
If you are fed up with frequent strikes then here is a good news at least for Maharashtra as Government has passed a bill wherein Ban has been put on strike of essential services.
Legal action would be taken against those who are associated with essential services will launch strike. According to this bill Government employees, Corporation employees, school bus employees, Hospital can not go on strike.
First there was a ban by Central Government on export of cotton which was followed by a strong protest with strikes in market yard and also with closed down of ginning mills. Because of this both political parties tried to play politics on this. At last Junagadh MP, Viththal Radaria gave a consolation that the CCI will purchase cotton from farmers at Rs. 900 per quintal.
However, no officer of CCI was seen in Rajkot and Gondal. Similar situation was seen in Botad of Bhavnagar, where farmers brought stock of 65,000 quintal cotton on 750 vehicles. But CCI did not bought cotton from here as well and the farmers had to even pay the rents of the vehicles they brought. Hence whoever gets benefit from this politics of cotton, it is the farmer who is suffering at the end of the day.
After the meeting with Finance Minister, the jewelers of Mumbai has also called off their strike. But they have also threatened that if any officer will ask them for excise duty or will give any kind of notice against which they went on a strike then they will again go on strike.
Jewelers organized Ekta Rally after the meeting with Finance Minister. The strikes lasted for 21 days and jewelers faced a loss of crores of rupees and Government as well faced loss of duties.
Due to the jeweler’s strike since the 17th date of March, Zaveri Bazar has suffered great loss. The loss is not limited to gold and silver merchants only but has affected those dealing in imitation jewellery. No customer is seen in the market because of the strike and this has affected the 150 imitation jewellery shops in Zaveri Bazar. There are more than 400 imitation jewellery merchants in Mumbai who are facing lakhs of loss because of the strike.
There has been a hike in the price of CNG Gas. Adani Gas Ltd announced increase in the price Compressed Natural Gas. The hike is of Rs4.70 per kg and will be implemented from April 1. The auto rickshaw drivers are upset with this price hike and are threatening to go on strike if the price hike is not taken back. The auto drivers have said that if the hike is not taken back than they will take out a rally and will also increase in the fare price.
On the 12th day of jeweler’s strike there has been a loss of around 3600 crore rupees. And if the strike will continue longer than the Maharashtra Government will face huge loss.
The most pitiable condition in this strike is of the workers of gold and silver. Approximately 10,000 workers are working in Mumbai. However, jewelers and workers are hoping that the excise duty will be lifted.
The suppliers of LPG gas are on strike for not getting their proper dues from the government. As a result of this people are not getting gas cylinders on time hence are in trouble.
When contacted the Secretary of All India LPG Distributor Federation, he consoled that the strike will be called off withing few days.
