Controversy surrounds BRTS buses in the second phase, Ahmedabad


In the second phase of BRTS bus is surrounded by controversies once again. This time it is the auto rolling shutters of BRTS buses that has caught the eyes. In the standing committee meet of Corporation the ruling and opposition parties had a clash. It has been decided to keep automatic doors at the shelters of BRTS buses. Opposition party opposed this by stating that this is the trick of gathering more money in name of development. They says that in the second phase more money is been demanded per bus stop compared to the first phase. The opposition party went on to say that this corruption is been done in order to raise funds for the upcoming elections. However, the ruling party has dismissed all these allegations and has said that the fund raising accuses are baseless.

Wife lodges complaint against in-laws for hiding AIDS status of husband, Khedbrambha


Girls alleges her in-laws for hiding that her husband was HIV Positive. He husband went to Allahabad for job leaving his wife in the village of Patan with in-laws. Afterwards the in-laws started torturing her for dowry.
Later colleagues of her husband brought him back because of his ill health and only then she came to know about her husbands health. Following this when she herself went for a check up it came out that she has also contracted the disease. Her husband died and the girl has lodged a complaint against her in-laws as she was tortured by them.

No one to stop at the entrance of AMC Dumping Site, Ahmedabad


The law is openly broken at the dumping site of Pirana in Ahmedabad. No one except the officials of Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation’s Solid Waste Management Department. Trespassing in this area is strictly prohibited but we found out many kids and women entering the area and collecting the garbage. These people entered the area without any restrain.
Tv9 report exposed this activity but even after the report no action was taken by the authority. Our reporter visited the place twice but there was no difference at the site. When contacted the on duty sanitary inspectors he started making excuses but it was the supervisor who exposed the irresponsibility of the officers.

CBI to probe in the Junagadh HIV Case, Ahmedabad


The Gujarat high court on Wednesday transferred probe to the CBI in the incident of 23 thalassemic kids in Junagadh contracting HIV through blood transfusion. CBI probe has been ordered for the first time by the HC while acting on a PIL.

After the entire incident came into light on 10th September 2011 that 23 thalassemic kids contracted HIV by blood transfusion from Sarvoday Blood Bank. Neither Junagadh police nor Civil Hospital officials were concerned about probing deeper in the case. Hence, parents and lawyers filed a PIL demanding thorough probing in this case.

The blood bank is a private blood bank and yet it is located in the Civil Hospital campus. The court observed that no effective steps were taken during five months of probe and the system seemed supporting the private blood bank, which did not even have a license.

The court declared this case as rarest of the rare case and CBI investigation will start after 4 weeks.

No sign of rain by the end of June month, Ahmedabad


June month is about to end yet there is no sign of rain yet. Normally, till 10 – 15 June monsoon arrives traditionally but the situation is not the same this year. According to Meteorological Center possibility of rain is nominal in the coming week. This is because el nino occurred in China. The center says that this year rain will be late.

Clash between police and mob after the murder of a Dalit youth, Rajkot


Following the murder of a dalit youth the agitated mob went out of control and set a house on fire. The mob also made it difficult for the fire brigade to control the fire. Last night police fired tear gas shells to control the mob and were on their foot for the entire night.
Residents were angry at police and demanded immediate arrest of the accused. Police nabbed two accused during the night only and sent the dead body for postmortem.
But the anger of residents did not stop here, next day when the dead body of the youth was taken for cremation, mob started pelting stone at the police. Following this police did a lathi charge at the mob and again fired tear gas shells.
Such was the situation the senior police officials has to come to Tharoda area in order to bring the situation under control. The situation is still tensed in this area and police officials are deployed here.
