After illegal mining scam busted in three villages, people are getting more and more aware about the theft of sand. Residents of Bakrol village in Daskroi Taluka informed Geological Department about the theft of sand in their area. Following their complaint the department took a checking drive and found out the 13,313.03 metric ton sand is been stolen. The department has seized a truck and two dumpers of Bharat Patel alongwith 70 lac rupees cash and has awarded him a penalty.

One more issue of illegal theft of sand has come into light. A compliant arrived of sand theft in Naaz village of Daskroi Taluka. Following this authority rushed to the spot and seized a truck and machine.
The entire incident came into light because of the alertness of the the Sarpanch and Talati of the area who filed a complain of sand theft from Doka-Mahudi Talavdi.
Zoology and Mining Department raided the place and the entire illegal mining scam was exposed.
Further probing is going on in the case. After Tv9 report many people have become aware regarding the sand theft and are getting more and more aware regarding stopping it. Yet there are many places where illegal mining is still going on.

A truck rammed a stationery bus on the Mumbai-Pune expressway at Khalapur yesterday midnight.In the major accident 27 got killed and 26 are injured. the tyre of one of the two buses carrying the marriage party got punctured after which the driver parked it alongside the road. As the tyre was being replaced, many of the bus passengers got out of the bus and for their safety sat in between the two stationery buses.
Eighteen died on the spot and driver of the truck absconded from accident spot.

Near Veraval a truck laden with onion overturned on Monday around 9 pm. 17 were injured of which two were critically injured. While truck was passing on uneven road it got overturned. 17 people were in the truck and they got injured after coming under heavy sacks of onion. Of 17, 12 were women and 5 were men.

At Dhadhuka highway a truck overturned in wee hours which killed 10 and 7 were injured.
The truck was carrying 17 people of same community. The driver lost control and truck overturned on Dhadhuka highway. The driver of the truck fled the scene soon after the accident. Police is in search of driver
