Narendra Modi said Pranab Mukherjee would have been better as PM than Manmohan Singh

During the BJP Council Meet, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi said that Pranab Mukherjee would have been a better choice for the post of Prime Minister but the Congress chose Manmohan Singh as ‘night watchman’ as it was worried that his success could affect the future of Gandhi family.
“If Pranab Mukherjee had been made the Prime Minister in place of Manmohan Singh then perhaps there would not have suffered so much damage as he is more connected to the ground, understands the problems and can think about the solutions,” Modi said.
However, Congress party reacted to this by saying that Modi’s speech is a bundle of lies.

On the other hand, Sanjay Raut of Shiv Sena said that “Modi is right, even Balasaheb said that Pranab was best suited for the PM post. His contribution is more than Manmohan”
