CM Modi challenges Congress during celebration of Gujarat Establishment Day, Dahod

The 52nd Establishment Day was celebrated in Dahod on 1st May, Chief Minister, Narendra Modi was present in the celebration in which he challenged Congress party openly to beat him in developmental work.
On the other hand cultural programmes, tribal dances and many other programmes lured the audience.


Heat Waves strike Kutch, temperature crosses 40 degree in Gujarat

The temperature in Gujarat State has crossed the limit of 40 degree Celsius. The hot sun-rays alongwith wind has increase the temperature. The weather department announced heat waves in Naliya and Kandla of Kutch. The officials says that this is because of Western Disturbance and the heat that comes from Rajasthan. On Tuesday the temperature was highest. The weather department has said that the temperature will still be high for some more days,


Abu Azmi not happy with court for punishing him for hate speech, Mumbai

A magistrate’s court on Monday convicted Samajwadi Party leader Abu Asim Azmi for a provocative speech he made in 2000 in Nagpada. The court sentenced him to two-year imprisonment and fined him Rs. 11,000.

On his conviction he is disappointed and said that after this he has freedom to say that even in court wrong judgements are made. Without taking name of any party he pointed fingers on many who have made hate speech in past and by which clashes did erupt but no action were taken against them at that time.


School collects used plastic pens and recycles them, Surat

In order to save environment a school has taken an initiative of collecting used plastic pens rather then throwing them anywhere on the roads. The Gajera Vidhyala collects these used pens and whatever earning is done from these pens is used in helping the poor students. Till now the school has collected approximately 700 kg pens and their target is to collect 1000 kg. By doing this the school is spreading a good message among the students.


Pigtail Macaque monkey gave birth to new baby, Vadodara

Pigtail Macaque monkey gave birth to their new baby in Sayajibaug Zoo. This is an African breed and in found only in Vadodara in the entire India. Large number of people are gathered in front of their cage. This new baby is the sixth member in the family of the pigtail macaque and the couple is given a name as Bunty-Bubbly.


20 year old married woman gang raped, 5 nabbed, Borsad

Borsad police has nabbed five after rape allegation by 20 year old married woman. But police is suspicious as the woman in her complaint said that she is raped by five whereas on camera she said that she was harassed by three. ” I was at my aunty’s house where i was sleeping outside at night at that time this incident took place” said the victim.

But many questions are raised on her allegations like why did she filed complain after a long gap. Police investigation is underway.


Narendra Modi inaugurates the first National Book Fair, Ahmedabad

Chief Minister, Narendra Modi, inaugurates first National Book Fair in Ahmedabad on 1st May 2012. The 7-day-long book fair is organized by AMC in association with National Book Trust of India.
Police officials were found having a look at the various books in the fair at Riverfront. 170 books stalls are there in this book fair. Large number of people were seen on the first day of the book fair.


Bride and Groom ended up in Police Station, Junagadh

Police halted an ongoing marriage ceremony in the Ramdevpara area of Junagadh. The reason was that both the bride and the groom were minors. The boy is 17 years old whereas the girl is 15 years old. All the family members ended up in police station and the father of the groom claimed that both bride and groom were adults. But when asked for age proof he was not able to provide with one. However, both the bride and groom are firm in their decision to marry each other.
As of now police has nabbed the parents as will as priest for practicing child marriage.


LIC Agent commits suicide with family, Ahmedabad

An LIC Agent was found dead alongwith his wife and two kids in his apartment. The incident came into light when foul smell came from their flat. Neighbors called police who found them dead. Mahendra was an LIC Agent and was about to go to America where his parents were living since many years.
Some says that Mahendra lost heavy amount of money in cricket betting.
Police searched their entire house but did not found any clue as to why they committed suicide. Investigation is still going on to reach the core of this issue.


Increase in number of diseases due to extreme heat, Ahmedabad

There has been a tremendous increase in number of diseases such as Cholera, Jaundice, Malaria and others, due to extreme hot temperature. Municipal Health Department officials are also stunned with this increase in the numbers of patients. According to sources, the number of diarrhea patients is 404, jaundice 172, typhoid 115, cholera 02, malaria 337, virulent malaria 07 and total 8 cases are registered of dengue among which 2 died.
People are falling victims to disease spreading with contaminated water and unhygienic food products. Authority is taking the necessary measures to stop this increase in the diseases.
