– Bollywood celebs visit Siddhivinayak temple following Angaraki Chaturthi, Mumbai

Many celebs from Bollywood were spotted at Siddhivinyak temple of Mumbai on Tuesday. The occasion was Angaraki Chaturti which is said to be biggest religious day. Mukesh Bhatt, Music Director Mukesh Bhatt and Dolly Bindra were seen offering prayer to deity.

Apart from Bollywood celebrities, Olympic medalist Mary Kom also walked the ramp at Shabana Azmi’s NGO charity fashion show.
The show also included other Bollywood stars who walked the ramp like Priyanka Chopra, Deepika Padukone, Parbhudeva, Imran Khan, Lara Dutt, Chitrangada Singh, Prateik Babbar, Amy Jackson, Arjun Kapoor, Parineeti Chopra, Dia Mirza, Imtiaz Ali, Kalki Koechlin, Karan Johar, Kunal Kapoor, Malaika Arora Khan, Neha Dhupia, Sameera Reddy, Shahana Goswami and Shahzan Padamsee.


Narendra Modi slams Kapil Sibal over Aakash tablet, Gandhinagar

While attending a function of Teacher’s Day today, CM Narendra Modi slamed Kapil Sibal over Aakash tablet by saying that “Last October distribution of Akash tablet was announced but till date the Akash has not reached earth”. He also said that Kapil Sibal announced in October 2011 that students just had to pay Rs. 3000 and they will get the tablet but till date none of the tablet has reached earth.
The function was organized in Gandhinagar where Modi interacted directly with students.


AMC imposes CCTV Camera on BRTS bus stands, Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation has installed CCTV camera at Nehrunagar and Shiranjani BRTS bus stand. Total eight CCTVs are installed four in each station. Two cameras are inside station while other two are at Ticket window. According to the authorities the cameras are installed to ensure the safety and security of the passengers. Apart from this it will also keep eye on the employees of BRTS.

The CCTVs will be monitored from control room by BRTS.


Section of Metro bridge collapses in Andheri, Mumbai

On Tuesday, a 50-metre section of the Andheri-Ghatkopar bridge. 15 people, including the labors got trapped under the debris. Fire officials and police rescued the trapped and admitted them in hospitals for treatment.
This is not the first accident on this project. In April this year, part of a 400-tonne crane fell off the truck it was being carried in and crashed into the Sarvodaya Hospital in Ghatkopar. In July, a construction worker fell to his death while building the Andheri segment of the line.


Uddhav Thackeray asks permit system for Biharis in Mumbai

For the first time Shiv Sena executive president Uddhav Thackeray joined in his cousin and Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray in the latter’s hate campaign against the people from Bihar. Uddhav said that a permit system should be implemented for Biharis who want to live in Mumbai. He said that if the Mumbai police need Bihar govt’s permission to act then we should implement the permit system.
On his hate speech various political leaders reacted.
Former Union minister and BJP leader C.P.Thakur said, “Whatever the Thackerays are doing is wrong… Be it a Bihari, Maharashtrian, Punjabi, everyone has a right to go and work at whichever place they want. One cannot draw lines like this.”
RJD leader Ram Kirpal Yadav said, “I think that Raj Thackeray, his uncle Bal Thackeray and brother Uddhav Thackeray have lost their mental balance. I am also surprised that the state and central governments are not taking any strict action against the Thackerays. No one has the right to make such statements.”
JD-U spokesperson Neeraj Kumar said, “The Thackerays only make inflammatory speeches and try to disturb the social balance in the nation. The Maharashtra and central governments are producing another Bhindranwale in this country.”


CM Modi launched new health schemes – ‘Amrutam Yojana’ & ‘Khilkhilahat’, Gandhinagar

On Tuesday chief minister Narendra Modi launched two health schemes for the poor and inaugurated the Gujarat Medical Services Corporation (GMSC). Modi launched the Mukhyamantri Amrutam Yojana, which provides poor patients with health protection cover up to Rs 2 lakhs. He also inaugurated the Gujarat Medical Services Corporation (GMSC). In addition the he also launched ‘Khilkhilat’ which celebrates the homecoming of infants and mothers after the delivery.
While announcing the new health schemes in Gandhinagar Modi clarified that these initiatives, worth Rs 200 crore, were are not ‘instant’ schemes.

Modi during the function attacked Congress party and said, ” as Gujarat is shining, others are having problem with that”.


Once again wheat bags drenched due to irresponsibility, Banaskantha

At Palanpur railway station around 18,000 wheat bags were found drenched in rain water. The visuals of grains which was supposed to be distributed to poor but getting decayed is evidence of FCI negligence. Under Public Distribution System 172000 wheat bags was transported from Madhya Pradesh which were kept at Palanpur railway station of which estimated 18000 wheat bags are completely drenched in water.
The bags were at first covered with plastics but the covering were not enough to save wheat bags. Also, animals were found eating the wheat grains.

However the FCI manger is denying the fact of large quantity of wheat is getting drenched. Recently similar incident took place in Vadodara.
