State BJP’s five-day long parliamentary board meeting starts from 30th Oct

Gujarat BJP will hold a five-day-long state parliamentary board meeting between 30th October and 3rd November to discuss the names of suitable candidates for 182 assembly seats.
The meeting kick started yesterday and chaired by state party president RC Faldu and attended by Chief Minister Narendra Modi and national vice president Parshottam Rupala among others.
As many as 29 seats of Bharuch, Narmada, Navsari, Dang, Valsad, Tapi, Surendranagar and Ahmedabad rural were discussed on the first day.

Describing Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s speech at Rajkot as “lackluster”, Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi said her party tread carefully and is scared of speaking in the state, fearing a backlash.
He asked Sonia Gandhi to come up with ‘substantive issues’ during the campaign for the assembly elections.
Modi said that Congress president Sonia Gandhi’s address to rally in Rajkot was devoid of any substance.
He said that there was nothing in her speech and when the media couldn’t find anything interesting, they published big photographs of her.


On his B’day Narendra Modi announces age relief in Govt. Jobs

On Monday, chief minister Narendra Modi relaxed the age limit criteria for government jobs. The age limit for government jobs will be increased from 25 years to 28 years. Where the criteria is 28 years, it will be increased to 30 years.
Candidates from scheduled castes, schedule tribes, socially and economically backward communities and women will continue to get relaxation of five more years from this age limit in government jobs.
Modi also announced an increase in scholarships to those students who win first, second and third prize at national level competitions from present Rs 1,800 to 2,500. The scholarships to students at school-level competitions will be increased from Rs 1,200 to Rs 2,000.


State Congress promises 1 Lac Govt. Jobs

On Monday the Congress party announced to fill up one lakh posts in government service and increase the age limit for recruitment.
GPCC president Arjun Modhwadia said it will also ensure that a new employment policy will be brought. He also said that 10 lakh new jobs will be created for the educated youths in five years.

JDU to contest Assembly Elections in Gujarat on its own

Carrying further its reservations over Narendra Modi, the Janata Dal (United) has decided to contest assembly elections in Gujarat on its own. JDU runs a coalition with BJP in Bihar but this is not the case in Gujarat.
Bihar CM, Nitish Kumar has not given a clear answer as to whether he will campaign in Gujarat or not. Where on the other hand Sharad Yadav has said that, “BJP is the larger party in the NDA. We will go for alliance with BJP wherever it wants us, but barring in Gujarat”.
Sharad Yadav said he will be campaigning in Gujarat but Nitish Kumar has not yet given a clear answer to that.
